Does Pickup integrate with my calendar?+
Deliberately not. Pickup doesn't touch your calendar — it captures the lead (name, postcode, problem, urgency, phone number) and sends you a text and an email the moment the caller hangs up. You ring the customer back when you're free and book the job into your own diary the way you always have. Every lead also shows in your dashboard at pickup.business/app as a running log, so nothing slips through the cracks.
Will my customers know it's an AI?+
Most won't. Pickup uses a natural British voice and has a tight, conversational script. We tell callers it's an assistant — we don't pretend to be you. Customers care that the call gets handled, not who handled it.
Do I need to change my phone number?+
No. Pickup uses your existing mobile. You enable a single 'forward if no answer' setting on your handset (one short code, takes 30 seconds), and missed calls go to Pickup. You still answer calls when you can.
How long does my phone ring before Pickup answers?+
About 15–20 seconds by default (roughly 4–5 rings) — long enough for you to grab the phone if you're free, short enough that the caller doesn't hang up. You can customise it though: a longer dial code lets you pick any of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 seconds. Up a ladder a lot? Try 25 or 30. Always too busy to answer anyway? Drop it to 5 so the AI picks up almost immediately. Full instructions are in your setup guide once you sign up.
What if it gets it wrong?+
Pickup is hard-wired to escalate rather than guess. It never quotes prices. It never confirms same-day work without you. It tells gas-leak callers to ring 999. And every call is recorded and transcribed — you'll see exactly what was said.
