What we collect, what we do with it, and what we don't.

Last updated: April 2026.

The short version

When a customer rings your phone and Pickup answers, we record the call, transcribe it, and capture the lead (name, number, postcode, problem). We text and email it to you, and store the recording, transcript and lead in your Pickup account so you can refer to it later. We don't share it. We don't train AI models on it. We don't sell it. That's the gist.

Who we are

Pickup is operated by Ralf Jungling, a sole trader trading as Pickup, based in the United Kingdom. If you've got questions, email hello@pickup.business. We answer them ourselves.

What we collect

  • ·Your business details when you sign up (name, business name, email, mobile, trade).
  • ·Recordings and transcripts of calls answered by Pickup, plus the caller's number.
  • ·Lead details captured by Pickup on each call — the customer's name, postcode, phone number, problem and urgency.
  • ·Basic technical data — IP address, browser type — to keep the service running and secure.

What we do with it

  • ·Provide the service — answer your phone, capture leads, deliver them to you by SMS and email, show you the call log.
  • ·Improve Pickup — anonymised, aggregated usage data helps us spot bugs and ship features. Individual calls are never used for product improvement without your explicit consent.
  • ·Send you essential service emails (your trial ending, an outage, a bill).
  • ·Respond when you contact us.

What we don't do

  • ·We don't sell your data. Ever.
  • ·We don't read or write your calendar. Pickup doesn't touch it.
  • ·We don't share your call recordings or transcripts with third parties beyond the providers strictly necessary to run the service (currently: Vapi for telephony, Deepgram for transcription, ElevenLabs for voice synthesis, Twilio for SMS delivery, Resend for email delivery, OpenAI for the conversational model).
  • ·We don't train our own AI models on your calls.
  • ·We don't market to your customers.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop processing it. Email us and we'll handle the request within 30 days. Cancelling your Pickup subscription deletes all call recordings and transcripts within 30 days of cancellation.

Cookies

The marketing site uses essential cookies only — no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics by default. If we add lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. Plausible) in future, we'll update this page and show a banner.

Changes

We'll update this page if anything material changes and email all active customers. Old versions remain archived on request.
